Motorhome For Sale - $3500 or Best Offer
It's a 1984 Establishment Class C 26-foot motorhome with a Ford 460 engine with 115,400 miles on it, and automatic transmission.
The engine is currently running well and strong. The timing gear was replaced in December, 2000 and it has been running better since then. At that time, the belts and hoses were replaced. The carburetor was rebuilt in 1997.
It has never overheated, even while (always) towing a 4000+ pound vehicle up long passes, and I never have to add antifreeze. It does use a quart of oil in several hundred miles.
It passed California Smog in 1995, but probably would need a new air pump, which froze a few years ago, and which I never replaced, as mechanics told me it runs just as well without it.
The exterior is a bit rough. There's a patched section on the left side where someone ran into it, but it has been functionally repaired. And there are two cracks on the right side above the window, patched with silicone seal.
The interior has a queen size bed above the cab, and no other bed (but a sleepable fold-out sofa), so that the interior is as roomy as a 34 foot Class A motorhome with a bed in back.
There's a large rear window, a booth with table, a sofa, a kitchen with large 2-way refrigerator (gas and 110v), 4 burner stove and oven, Panasonic microwave oven, sink and counter.
There are two large closets, and ten spacious cabinets all around the living area. And the interior has been reupholstered.
The bathroom has a medium sized shower, sink, and toilet.
There's also a gas furnace, hot water heater, and a control panel showing the house battery condition, tank levels, and water pump and generator controls.
It has an Onan 4.0 Generator for running the roof air conditioner and/or microwave when dry camping (not plugged in).
It's got two good Michelin heavy duty radial tires on the front with good tread left (new in 1995), and 4 new Big-O Bigfoot H/T tires on the rear (new in 2002).
Also, new u-joints, and a new windshield.
And it had a complete brake job and transmission service at 105,000 miles (1999). I have complete maintenance and repair records since it was new.
Since I got it in 1995, I've driven it to the Regionals at Carson City from 1995 through 2001, the 1995 Nationals in Chelan, the 1996 Nationals in Dinosaur and on to Aspen, down south to San Diego and Yuma every winter from 1997 through 2003, where we lived in it. Also a trip to British Columbia and Golden, BC in the summer of 1999.
It gets between 6 and 7 mpg towing first my Trooper, and more recently, our 4Runner with gliders on top. I have a complete log of our travels, covering the last 25,000 miles.
It has cruise control and tilt steering wheel, and is a pleasure to drive for hours at a time.
Some negatives:
exterior somewhat rough.
LPG tank difficult to fill, takes longer than it should. But it is fillable. The vent has a problem opening enough, I think. But our last filling lasted three winters, mostly just cooking.
26 gallon gas tank means you have to stop for gas every 130 miles or so.
Radio not working. Needs new antenna. But cassette player works.
Water filler cover broken off.
Other:
I added a bypass to the hot water tank, to make it easier to winterize.
We are non-smokers, so no smoke residue or smell.
